I've spent a couple birthdays like this before, quite literally not knowing what would become of me in the coming year. Just as any other, I like my stability and for that reason, uncertainty makes me feel threatened and confused, especially after recently recovering from one potential life-changing event and hoping another wouldn't fall on me just yet. Only a fool asks the world to stop turning and expects it to obey, however.
